DO YOU HAVE A FILM CLIP YOU’D LIKE FEATURED ON The Z?

Because we feature a lot of independent music videos we are always looking for new material throughout the year for broadcast. We accept music videos of any genre.

To give your clip the best chance of being selected for airplay it should as closely as possible conform to the following requirements:

Recording:

1. Each disc should be clearly labelled with: Artist, Song Title, Duration, Copyright Owner of video, Songwriters names and Contact Details. Also list music publisher, if any. There is no need for printed colour covers unless you wish to do so.
2. Put a leader (clapper/ident) on the tape at the beginning of the video, that contains Artist, Song Title, Duration, Copyright Owner of video, Songwriters names and Contact details.
3. Colour bars and tone recorded at 0 db at the beginning and a ten second countdown that includes two seconds of black.
4. B
rand the clip , with white text placing only the name of the artist, website address and releasing label, at the start of the clip and again 5 seconds from the ending. Do not place copyright notices or anything else on the clip (particularly watermarking of any type) or we will not be able to use it.

5. At the end of the music video ensure there is at least 10 seconds of black.

Broadcast Quality:

1. The picture quality should be clear and where possible mastered to broadcast quality

2. The sound quality should be properly mastered to reasonable standards in stereo no lower than –6 db or higher than 0 db (muffled “live” sound off a camcorder can not be broadcast).

Content:

1. The clip should not contain overtly offensive material.

2. The clip should not contain overt advertising or product placement.

3. The clip should not contain obvious language unsuitable for persons under 18. In the case of such language “beeping” or other forms of blanking are permissible.

Format:

Our studio’s are equipped for DVD disc’s (we do not use any tape formats as they require real-time re-recording). Therefore film clips supplied on anything other than DVD disc can not be used.

· We prefer a high quality MPEG burned onto a data DVD disc OR

· As a second preference a standard playable domestic DVD. If you are burning the DVD yourself it can be either (+) or (-) R, NTSC or PAL.

· Please note we can not use:

1. Clips on VHS tapes as the quality is insufficient for broadcast.

2. Data DVD’s or CD’s containing quicktime (.qt, .Mov etc.), Windows Media (.wmv) or Real Media (.RM etc.).

3. Clips from web sites.
